Lutzmannsburg
PARADISE FOR CHILDREN IN CENTRAL BURGENLAND

Lutzmannsburg is one of the oldest market towns and the first wine-growing municipality in the whole of Burgenland to be mentioned in documents. The community centres around the green and the redeveloped main square. There are many well-preserved rural buildings and arcaded courtyards in the multi-award-winning town.

Fruit- and vine-growing predominate as result of the mild climate and the heavy soil on the Pannonian Plain. “Lutschburg”, as the inhabitants lovingly call it, is in the heart of Blaufränkisch country, which is named after the grape variety typically grown here.

To the east of Lutzmannsburg is the popular family spa resort of Sonnentherme, hotels, the thrilling high ropes course which reaches lofty heights and a golf course in the neighbouring Hungarian village of Zsira. B&B accommodation, flats and holiday apartments are also available to let in Lutzmannsburg.

There are hiking trails, cycle routes and the “Rolling area” skate course which traverse the beautiful scenery, up into the Lutschburg vineyards and along the river Rabnitz through the Pannonian Plain. In Strebersdorf you can follow in the footsteps of the Romans, because the hiking trail here leads along the Roman road, the Bernsteinstraße or Amber Road, which was built in the first century A.D.
