Few other places are as closely linked with first-class wine as the market town of Gols in the heart of the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel wine-growing region. Gols is decidedly lucky in terms of location. The interaction between Parndorf heath to the north, the Seewinkel in the south, the heath land in the west and lake Neusiedl in the east, results in a delicate microclimate which produces excellent wines.

In addition to the charming, north Burgenland village itself, visitors also enjoy Gols’ multi-award winning wines. The hospitality of the people of Gols is infectious. The numerous roadside taverns and food outlets, the full calendar of events throughout the year, the lively clubs and associations and interesting attractions in the village and its surrounding area transform any holiday into a bouquet of delights.

Why not drop into the WeinKulturHaus Gols, for example? Gols’ wine growers produce more than 400 wines and there are 120 here for you to taste.

You can purchase your favourites at producers’ prices, and then tour the Erwin Moser Museum, which is also part of the WeinKulturHaus and which provides an interesting insight into the work of the internationally successful children’s and teens’ author.

Gols is the ideal starting point for bike rides around lake Neusiedl and the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park. Discover the unique landscape and culture on the Gols WeinWanderWeg wine trail. Learn all about wine from the highly informative signs as you hike through the superb scenery. At the cool, fun Aqua-Splash adventure pool, water babies and sun worshippers can cool off or let off steam. The permanent sculpture exhibition on the site of the legendary Gols Fair is always worth a visit.

Try not to miss the following Gols wine-related events either: Gols Weinfrühling in spring, wine race and wine tasting, Gols Fair, Gols Martinmas celebrations or the Gols Zweigelt Cup.
