Our village nestles in the Raiding valley, on the edge of the Ödenburg hills, and is part of Blaufränkisch country. The once simple village, which looked like a typical Hungarian agricultural village, has become a stylish, up-and-coming location.

This was the birthplace of the brilliant artist whose superb works not only put Raiding on the map, but also this little corner of land that was formerly in western Hungary.

Of course Raiding is associated with the famous musician and composer Franz Liszt.

The Liszt Centre, constructed in 2006, is the focal point of Raiding’s efforts to become a successful cultural, wine-growing and tourism destination. There are award-winning wine-growers and distillers, cosy heuriger, innovative gastronomy, bicycle-friendly guest houses and unspoiled nature waiting to be discovered from numerous cycle routes, bridle paths and the Bernsteinstraße Roman road.
