Amid breathtaking expanses, a rich variety of wildlife, and boundless cycling fun: The new National Park Cycle Route (NP1) combines nature, exercise, enjoyment, and sightseeing. Over a distance of just under 150 kilometers, cyclists ride past the region’s characteristic soda lakes, pastures where rare animals graze, and unspoiled landscapes. The route follows existing and new bike paths through all National Park municipalities in the Seewinkel region—one section is located on the Hungarian side within the Fertő–Hanság National Park. It connects well-known sights around Lake Neusiedl: the Andau Bridge, the baroque Halbturn Castle, and the Tabor ruins in Neusiedl am See are perfect spots for a short break. Even cycling with children becomes an adventure here. White donkeys, the impressive gray cattle, and scenic overlooks along the bike path promise special experiences in nature.
