The lighthouse is located on the western outskirts and near the small harbor of Podersdorf am See. With a height of about twelve meters, it stands prominently in the flat landscape of the Neusiedler Basin. Originally built as a navigational aid and for issuing storm warnings to water sports enthusiasts, it has evolved into a popular destination for tourists and is a highly sought-after photographic subject. However, it is not possible to visit the interior of the tower.
