ABOUT THE CONCERT
“This project is truly a labor of love for me,” says the director of Academia Allegro Vivo and raves about the congenial collaboration with the legendary double bassist Georg Breinschmid. The friendship between the two musicians has led to a wonderful new work for violin, double bass, and orchestra, which is bursting with humor, rhythmic finesse, and zest for life! And Breinschmid’s composition “Vienna Remains Krk” has long become a hit and has made its way into the repertoire of internationally renowned ensembles in countless arrangements. The orchestra Academia Allegro Vivo is characterized by this unrestrained joy of playing and by the open horizon of continuously discovering something new. This enthusiasm and curiosity for the new and extraordinary can also be found in the cultural traditions of our neighboring countries: Dvořák’s popular “Humoresques” and his “Slavic Fantasy” as well as Bartók’s “Romanian Folk Dances” guarantee a boundless musical fireworks display!
