The Rosalia Chapel stands on the highest peak of the Rosalia Mountains, the 748-meter high Heuberg. Prince Paul Esterhazy had this chapel built in 1670. With the construction of the chapel, which is in the shape of a cross, the spirit of the cruel woman „Rosalie zu Forchtenau“, who had her subjects tortured - so the legend goes - should finally be put to rest. The chapel is unique in Burgenland due to its intact early Baroque furnishings and is the first chapel dedicated to St. Rosalia. Numerous weddings and baptisms are celebrated there. It is the destination of many pilgrims and hikers.

From there you have the most beautiful panoramic view of the country. On a clear day, you can see far into the Vienna Basin, to Bratislava and Lake Neusiedl, as well as into the Pannonian Plain to Hungary on one side. The Rax, the Schneeberg and the humpbacked world on the other side of the chapel.

Next to the chapel is an approximately 7m high wooden cross, whose light shines far across the country in the evening. Tradition includes the Rosalienkirtag which is held every year on the Sunday after September 4.
