This beautiful chapel is situated on the edge of the vineyards, with a view of the castle. Before 1985, the year the chapel was built, a wooden cross had stood on this spot. When their youngest daughter became seriously ill, the E. Pingitzer family vowed to replace this cross with a chapel if the child recovered.
When the chapel was being built, the question of naming it arose. Since it is particularly important on Ascension Day, as the 4th station of our traditional procession through the vineyards, the name of this feast was chosen. The content of this day, the Ascension of Christ, was depicted in the large picture on the front wall. The two figures of angels in the niches come from the cemetery chapel, which was demolished at the time.
