The marketplace of Stadtschlaining transforms once again this year into a magical fairy-tale world of the Middle Ages, offering a special Advent experience for young and old alike. Huge city gates with costumed guards grant visitors entry for the 45th time this year.
A very special pre-Christmas highlight – in an extraordinary ambience with a unique atmosphere, strolling through a crafts and farmers' market – this is the pre-Christmas market in the city of peace. In keeping with tradition, tea, mulled wine, punch, roasted chestnuts, sweets, homemade pastries, and regional delicacies from the area are a must: the best ingredients for an unforgettable celebration, a time travel into the Middle Ages.
Many Highlights for Children
The children's program in the Friedensburg Schlaining will delight the little visitors. In the various rooms of the castle, a Christmas crafting and painting workshop, child-friendly tours of the castle, pottery, lino prints, and much more are offered. A carriage ride through Stadtschlaining and the visit of St. Nicholas are always a special highlight for the children.

Whether in the individual private driveways, in the town hall, or the Friedensburg – Stadtschlaining can also be conquered by its guests on this day. And everywhere you go, you can feel the flair and atmosphere of the medieval Christmas market.
Through the City … Nativity Path
Christmas crèches are of timeless fascination. The Stadtschlaining Nativity Path invites you again this year to stroll through the medieval town center and the Friedensburg, taking breaks along the way. In the windows of the houses around the medieval main square and in the Friedensburg, you can "view crèches" and admire numerous handmade artworks. An icon exhibition in the community hall additionally enriches the Advent character.
