ABOUT THE CONCERT
“One grows with Bach, constantly, steadily, one changes as a pianist, but also as a person, as the music changes under one’s fingers,” says Kateryna Titova, for whom Bach was formative in childhood and who sees him as an essential foundation of her technique, and further adds: “Despite all strict rules and clear architecture, there is nothing more personal than Bach.” Perhaps this is one of the main reasons why numerous legendary pianists have redefined "their" Bach and opened up new sound worlds with magnificent, respectful arrangements. Starting from Bach's original works in the "Italian style," Kateryna Titova takes us into new, unexpected sound realms with arrangements of popular Bach works.
