Experience bees up close

28.03. - 28.06.2026

A course for the curious, nature lovers, and connoisseurs

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of honey bees! In this diverse course, you will gain exciting insights into the life of a bee colony and learn why these little pollinators are so indispensable for our environment.

Theory – Knowledge about the honey bee
• The life and organization of a bee colony
• Important pests and challenges in modern beekeeping
• Basic knowledge of beekeeping
• Products from the beehive and their special features

Practice – Working with a living bee colony (weather permitting)
In the practical session, you will have the chance to get actively involved:
• We will open a bee colony and examine the combs up close
• You will see the different developmental stages – from egg to larva to capped brood
• With a bit of luck, we might even observe a bee emerging
• Together we will search for the queen – perhaps she will reveal herself to us
• We will observe drones, which can also be handled due to their lack of stinger
• Depending on the season, we will check honeycombs: How much nectar has been collected? Has it already ripened into honey? A taste straight from the comb is possible

Tasting – Sweet diversity from the beehive
At the end, a delightful highlight awaits: the tasting of our high-quality organic products. Included are:
• Organic blossom honey
• Organic cream honey
• Organic forest honey
• Organic honey with nuts, raspberry, or cocoa
• Organic oxymel in various varieties (including Simplex, with ginger & lemon, with sprouting buds)
• Mead and mead with sour cherry
• Metzante – our award-winning frizzante made from mead and sour cherry (World Champion at the Mead World Championship)
• Honey liqueurs and much more

Experience a day full of knowledge, nature, enjoyment, and unforgettable impressions – up close with one of the most fascinating creatures on our planet!
