Krowodnrock concert on the occasion of 50 years of the Ethnic Group Act
So not yet in retirement?? On the contrary: Bruji are still buzzing along! 46 years after the release of their first LP “Gemma Krowodn schaun,” one wonders what happened back in 1980? Why did a band title their debut this way?
The intention of the “Godfathers of Krowodnrock” is still: to counteract the assimilation and language loss of young Croats. And above all: to recognize, live, and pass on the value of bilingualism and multilingualism!
Bruji still hold a Krowodnrock torch in their hands, while they have passed the other on to younger generations: such as Kacavida and Elektrikeri. Both acts will be heard on this evening. Kacavida reactivates with full power and Elektrikeri engages with new material!
The Carinthian-Slovenian band Bališ honors us again in the KUGA – on the road for more than 25 years in the name of rock and roll! A musical rock gem of people’s understanding. Not just between Slovenia and Carinthia. It’s about music and not about geo- or ethnographic narrow-mindedness. Deeply rooted in the rock and blues of the 1960s and 1970s, enriched with ingredients of the new millennium, influenced by styles that each band member has absorbed.
Last year, the band celebrated its 25th anniversary with a fantastic concert, for which a live CD will be released in the autumn.
Bališ (pronounced: baliesch) is an old Carinthian-Slovenian dialect expression from the linguistic region of Ebriach/Obirsko and means either the belongings that maids and servants carried on their shoulders during their journey from farm to farm, or the dowry for brides.
