Sir Antonio Pappano, conductor
Chamber Orchestra of Europe
Johannes Brahms:Concert for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in D minor op. 15
Antonín Dvořák:Symphony No. 7 in D minor op. 70
Especially as music director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, but also as chief conductor of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the English-born Sir Antonio Pappano has made his mark on the world of music over the past few decades. He is now once again guesting at the Haydnsaal, conducting the Chamber Orchestra of Europe for two major works by two friendly composers. The brilliant young Frenchman Alexandre Kantorow is featured as soloist for the magnificent Piano Concerto No. 1 by Johannes Brahms. Antonín Dvořák's dramatic yet melodic Symphony No. 7 serves as a thrilling counterpart to this piece.
