Excursion at Pauliberg
We all need mineral raw materials: an insight into the raw material needs of Austria, specifically Burgenland, in the supply area of Pauliberg and the history of basalt extraction. The newly constructed facility enables material transport over long distances using conveyor belts, an automated conveyor loading system that saves fossil energy sources. A photovoltaic system that covers a quarter of our energy needs. Extraction sites are ecologically better than their reputation, as they provide additional biotopes for numerous living beings. Following the practice of Esterhazy, conservation topics are also implemented in operational practice during raw material extraction.
