“From My Shop Cabinet - The Graphic Work 1985-2025”
Klaus-Jürgen Bauer was versatilely skilled, active, and engaged. He was not only an architect, publicist, or author, but above all: a storyteller. No one could describe and recount facts and events as pointedly and precisely as he could. This time, however, Klaus-Jürgen Bauer will not be speaking; his architecture stories will not be told, but rather stories about him: told by colleagues, clients, and companions, about shared experiences, encounters, and tales. Each personal meeting is fundamentally different and unusual, and through this reception, the multifaceted image of Klaus-Jürgen Bauer is to be framed but also expanded. For the exhibition, interviews will be conducted with colleagues from the field as well as with individuals who had specific touchpoints in architecture with him. The interviews will be recorded audiovisually and presented as short film contributions in the exhibition. Part of the exhibition includes excerpts of his graphic work, which was documented with the publication “From My Shop Cabinet” (ed. edition lex liszt 12). A compilation of contributions contributes to a shared memory of the architect and shapes the collective memory around one of the most significant architecture mediators in Burgenland.
Klaus-Jürgen Bauer passed away in 2025 at the age of 62.
At the opening of the exhibition on September 10 at 6:00 p.m., the book “From My Shop Cabinet” (ed. edition lex liszt 12) will be presented.
The entrance is free, no prior registration necessary!
