ABOUT THE CONCERT
When does the next swan go? About lions, cats, bulls, and other animals In December, the Liszt Center will become the ring for one of the most popular classics in music history: “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns – a family concert for big and small ears and for everyone who loves to laugh. The exquisite instrumental ensemble led by violinist Verena Stourzh brings the animal characters to life with wit, familiar melodies, and overflowing joy in playing. In “Ferdinand the Bull,” Stourzh also showcases her virtuosic side in the brilliant violin solo part. The spoken word is provided by cabaret veteran Andreas Vitásek, who adds an extra dose of humor to the “Carnival of the Animals” with Loriot's legendary texts – pointed and guaranteed to induce laughter. A family concert that connects generations and shows that lions roar, swans glide, and music can be a lot of fun.
