The music-text collage "Klein Wien am Pruth" combines the "Czernowitz Sketches" by Alexander Kukelka for clarinet quartet, created in 2004, with texts from the rich literary tradition of Bukovina. Against the backdrop of current events, the program gains special significance: it remembers the cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence of different ethnicities and confessions in historic Bukovina, today's western Ukraine. As a musical and literary homage, "Klein Wien am Pruth" makes a statement for understanding, tolerance, and peace, inviting us to learn from history for the present.
