Long Night of the Museums

03.10.2026

The former synagogue in Kobersdorf is participating in the "Long Night of Museums" for the fifth time this year. Between 6 PM and 9 PM there will be workshops and inputs focused on Shabbat: "What is Shabbat? Why does it begin on Friday evening? What special features, rules, and rituals should be observed? Why do you need two candles?"

Experience Shabbat with all your senses: In this combined workshop, we will braid small challah breads (Shabbat breads) and create Shabbat candles together. Participants will learn in a creative and playful way about the significance of light, bread, and community on the Jewish day of rest. The self-made challot and candles can be taken home as personal memories.

An interactive evening for families, culture enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to learn about Shabbat.

6:00 PM - 12:00 AM: ongoing free visits possible
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: open workshops & inputs

  • Short introduction: What is Shabbat? (Meaning, rules, rituals, special features)
  • Parallel: two crafting stations (participants can join at any time)
