“Night Music and The Magic Flute” introduces young audiences to the life and work of the most famous Austrian composer in a humorous way. Not only listening, but also participation is encouraged when Marko Simsa undertakes a carriage ride as in Mozart’s times.
The first audience row as galloping horses, along with a few coach drivers, and all other listeners as passengers, who are vigorously shaken about. Little Wolfgang and his sister Nannerl play with their eyes closed at the imperial court. Children from the audience become the conductors of the small orchestra and dance a very festive minuet from the opera Don Giovanni. The well-known folk song “Come, dear May, and make” can be heard. And together, they form the great “Papageno Choir” to support our opera singer during the birdcatcher's song!
