The musical and the namesake Swedish film by Kay Pollak tell the story of conductor Daniel Daréus, who returns to the village of his childhood after a heart attack.
There, he takes over the leadership of the church choir and captivates them with his unconventional methods. However, not everyone in the village appreciates the fresh wind blowing through the town, and he finds himself in conflict with the entrenched structures. Musical Güssing has successfully acquired the rights for the German-language performance of this hit musical. It will be directed by artistic director Marianne Resetarits.
The most famous song from the musical is "Gabrielas Song."
The musical will be performed on the outdoor stage at KUZ-Güssing; in case of bad weather, indoors!
