North of Illmitz lies the "Illmitz-Hölle" area. Here you will find not only a number of salt ponds but also fields in front of Lake Neusiedl and extensive sandy areas that are extremely rare in Central Europe. The diverse habitats host a high number of animal and plant species, whose composition changes with the seasons. You will encounter waders as well as duck and heron species, with salt plants alternating with species from dry grasslands and sandy habitats. This richness of species transforms every visit into a unique experience.

The tour takes place in all weather conditions. The national park reserves the right to adapt the content of the tour flexibly and to adjust it to the respective weather conditions.
Meeting point: National Park Center Illmitz
From here, you will cycle into the designated area of the national park. A own bicycle is mandatory, but it can be rented for a small fee at local bike rentals.
