Orchesterconcert

29.11.2026

Mirror of the World of My Resonant Dreams
For the first time, the two orchestras are merging with students from the higher music education institutions of Burgenland (Institut Oberschützen of the University of the Arts Graz and Joseph Haydn Private University Burgenland) to form a joint ensemble. Both institutions have been regularly and successfully presenting their orchestras to the public for many decades. The special occasion for this first collaboration between the two institutions and their orchestras is Friedrich Cerha's seven-part orchestral cycle "Spiegel" (1960/61), a landmark of Austrian post-war avant-garde. This challenging cycle, requiring more than 100 musicians, unites the artists studying in Burgenland into a single sound body. (Klaus Aringer)
