Joseph Haydn worked as a court musician, conductor, and composer for the Esterházy family from 1761 to 1803. Since 2009, this artistic epoch has been honored with a permanent exhibition in the Sala Terrena of the Schloss in Eisenstadt.
The guided tour includes an exhibition that highlights Joseph Haydn as an innovative pioneer of the string quartet, focusing on his four patrons and clients, Paul II Anton, Nikolaus I, Anton, and Nikolaus II Esterházy, as well as the locations where Haydn's works were performed.
