Sterz and Strudel Weeks 2026 in Burgenland
From September 4 to 20, 2026, a proud 32 taverns and restaurants in Burgenland invite you to the Sterz and Strudel Weeks. The focus is on two culinary classics of the region: Sterz and Strudel, served in an impressive variety. The participating establishments surprise their guests with a diverse selection of traditional and creative dishes – from hearty to sweet, from down-to-earth to sophisticated.
Each house sets its own culinary accents and interprets the Burgenland dining culture in an individual way. Visitors can expect a wide range of Sterz variations – for example, made from buckwheat, cornmeal, or potatoes, hearty with cracklings or vegetarian – as well as Strudel in sweet and savory versions, from apple and cheese strudel to hearty fillings.
A special highlight is the Sterz.Strudel.Sturm.Festival, which will be celebrated on September 19 and 20, 2026, in the atmospheric courtyard of Schloss Tabor and on September 19 in the Kellerstraße in Purbach. Here, Burgenland hospitality, regional specialties, creative cooking shows, and musical entertainment take center stage.
