Sterz and Strudel Weeks 2026 in Burgenland
From September 4 to 20, 2026, 32 proud inns and gastronomic establishments in Burgenland invite you to the Sterz and Strudel Weeks. The focus is on two culinary classics of the region: Sterz and Strudel, which will be served in an impressive variety. The participating establishments surprise their guests with a diverse selection of traditional and creative dishes – from savory to sweet, from down-to-earth to refined.
Each house sets its own culinary accents and interprets Burgenland’s culinary culture in an individual way. Visitors can expect a wide range of Sterz variations – for example, made from buckwheat, cornmeal, or potatoes, hearty with cracklings or vegetarian – as well as Strudel in sweet and savory versions, from apple and cheese strudel to hearty fillings.
A special highlight is the Sterz.Strudel.Sturm.Festival, which will be celebrated on September 19 and 20, 2026, in the atmospheric courtyard of Schloss Tabor and on September 19 in the cellar lane in Purbach. Here, Burgenland hospitality, regional specialties, creative show cooking, and musical entertainment are at the heart of the event.
