Uhudler State Theater - freely based on Hugo von Hofmannsthal
“Time, it’s a strange thing. When one lives through it, it is nothing at all. But then suddenly, one feels nothing but it.” – Marschallin in the Rosenkavalier
In the production of the Uhudler State Theater, it is about love, jealousy, and infidelity: about moral categories and visions of happiness that resemble an experimental setup. The stage thus becomes a laboratory where the performers face the experiments they impose on themselves and each other, discovering that great passion is not always the measure of great love. In between is Cupido, the little angel of love. He is quite a cheeky little fellow, who has plunged people into a frenzy of love with his arrows since time immemorial. As a child of chaos – it is no surprise that a right scallywag emerges from the boy. He uses his bow and arrow only to set the hearts of people ablaze, indifferent to whether he destroys marriages or causes other mischief.
