Contemporary architecture is a marginal phenomenon in Burgenland, a minority program among others. This contrasts with the historical and cultural architectural uniqueness of the region: the characteristics of the Pannonian climate, the flora and fauna, the light; the anonymous, village-rural settlement structures that, until the most recent past, represented a rarely seen unity of economic and land forms, of elemental forms of settlement and building typologies in Europe. The goal and concern of the association is to promote contemporary architecture and to provide education and mediation work in the relevant committees and in public. Under the motto Architectural Space Burgenland, efforts are being made to improve communication between architects and clients, citizens and builders in order to facilitate new construction more than before.
