Roman and Martin take care of the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of the numerous crops, while Martina is responsible for processing and the organic shop. Teresa advises as a sports and nutrition scientist in the creation of new and innovative products, such as sugar-free organic granola for a balanced start to the day.
A little courage is always good
Everyone starts small. The Schmit family has also only taken gradual steps. First, they took over the family farm, then restructured it, and in 2001 switched to organic farming. Most recently, they opened their own organic shop. Every step was and is a milestone that did not always meet with widespread approval. But this very circumstance has encouraged Martina and her family to not give room to doubts, but rather to believe in their dreams and bravely pursue the goals they set.
Suddenly it went "pop"
Such things are not planned, they just happen. A few years ago, the Schmit family – actually out of curiosity – started producing organic raw popcorn. It was well received by customers, and it turned out that the farm is Austria's only organic popcorn producer. When the popcorn suddenly "popped up" in the media, the first harvest was immediately sold out. We were able to meet many new customers and welcome many interested parties directly at the farm. The courage to try something new with organic raw popcorn has once again paid off.
