The Leitha is perfect for kayaking and canoeing tours from Wimpassing, suitable for everyone, even without prior experience. The tour starts at the canoe station Wimpassing and goes all the way to Leithaprodersdorf, passing through unspoiled, rainforest-like floodplain forests, amidst a fascinating wildlife.
On this largely unregulated stretch, the Leitha reveals itself as a true gem of nature for both adventurers and romantics. Along the waterway between Wimpassing and Leithaprodersdorf, canoeists will encounter fast-flowing sections as well as shallow fords and numerous gravel and sandbanks inviting for swimming and resting. In one of Austria's most pristine river landscapes, you can escape the everyday life while being up close with beavers, great bustards, herons & co.
The canoe tour on the Leitha includes the rental of canoes, including paddles, waterproof containers, and life jackets, training on the water, as well as guided tours (either 1.5 or 2.5 hours) and transportation back. If desired, there is also the option to grill together over an open fire.
