This lovely chapel in the corridor is beautifully located on the edge of the vineyards, overlooking the castle. Before 1985, the year the chapel was built, a wooden cross had stood at this spot. When their youngest daughter fell seriously ill, the E. Pingitzer family vowed to replace this cross with a chapel if the child would recover.
When it came to designing the chapel, the question of naming it also arose. Since it is particularly noted as the 4th station of our traditional vineyard procession on Ascension Day, the name of this celebration was chosen. The content of this day, the Ascension of Christ, is depicted in the large picture on the gable wall. The two angel figures in the niches come from the cemetery chapel that was dismantled at the time.
