Open-Air Museum Bad Tatzmannsdorf – A Glimpse into the “Good Old Days”
Situated right next to modern spa resorts, attractive wellness oases, and the football arena, the Open-Air Museum Bad Tatzmannsdorf offers a unique opportunity to step back in time. It is a place to escape the modern world and immerse yourself in the charm of the “Good Old Days.”
Life, Culture & Craft of Past CenturiesThe museum provides fascinating insights into the daily lives, rural culture, and working methods of people in Burgenland in earlier times. A total of 21 historic buildings, dating from the late 18th to the early 20th century, have found a new home here, carefully preserved for future generations. Traditional wooden houses with thatched roofs, authentically furnished rooms, household items, and farming tools vividly illustrate the lifestyle and economic practices of the past.
Visiting & Guided ToursThe Open-Air Museum is open all year round. Visitors can explore independently at any time via a turnstile entrance. With an admission fee of only EUR 2,-, you contribute directly to the preservation of this unique museum site.
Regular guided tours are also offered. For groups, we are happy to organize tailor-made tours – optionally combined with a concluding meal at the DAZUMAL Arkadenheuriger, where regional delicacies and warm Burgenland hospitality provide the perfect culinary complement to your museum visit.
Guided tours: You can find the dates for guided tours of the open-air museum here.
A Destination with Added ValueThe combination of culture & cuisine makes the Open-Air Museum together with the Arkadenheuriger a special experience for all generations – whether as a relaxing day trip, part of your holiday, or the setting for group activities and celebrations.
