The listed Donatus Chapel in the vineyards of Neckenmarkt was built in 1735 under Abbot Johannes Rohrer and is dedicated to Saint Donatus, the patron saint of winemakers. Known as the "vineyard chapel," it is picturesquely located on the slope of the Ödenburg Mountains. It underwent extensive renovation in 2015. The current altar painting by Karl Engel depicts the Ascension of Christ (1964), while the original – damaged during World War II – has been restored and hangs on the side wall.
In 2022, the chapel was featured in the ORF program 9 Places – 9 Treasures.
The romantic chapel in the vineyards is a popular excursion destination and viewpoint, offering a breathtaking view far into the Pannonian plain and, on clear days, all the way to Lake Neusiedl.
