Hiking and exploring borders - on the border experience path Bildein!

The Grenzerfahrungsweg in Bildein is a family-friendly hiking trail with 11 stations along the 5 km long route, which offers hikers the opportunity to approach the topic of borders and border experiences in a variety of ways. Get lost in our labyrinth, descend into a World War II bunker, climb over huge spider webs, or touch the former "Iron Curtain": you will have fun and experience something new - even beyond your own borders!".
The path, which has various stations, connects the two former districts of Oberbildein and Unterbildein, and picks up on historical, cultural and topographical features. The Grenzerfahrungsweg is a hiking trail for families and groups with a clearly defined thematic profile. It leads from the center of Bildein with its existing tourist infrastructure via a number of experience-oriented stations (labyrinth, bunker, Spiel ohne Grenzen, pontoon bridge, bridge, border guard tower) to the Austrian-Hungarian border, crosses the Pinka River there and returns along the opposite bank of the river.

It can be used by pedestrians and cyclists and is accessible without difficulty. The stations are designed to be interesting and stimulating for children and adults. They are also deliberately designed to encourage intergenerational conversation. Along the route there are sufficient rest areas as well as smaller individual stations with picture-text boards.
