Haydn in private - Resonant through Haydn's world
An exhibition full of music, anecdotes, and culture – in the Haydn House, history comes alive like never before.
THE PRIVATE HAYDN HOUSE
In the midst of historical walls, the life of the great composer Joseph Haydn comes to new brilliance. The permanent exhibition "Haydn@home" invites you on an impressive journey into Haydn's private rooms, which he shared with his wife Maria Anna Theresia. Colorful strip decorations and lovingly reconstructed details not only convey the taste of the 18th century but also provide an intimate insight into the daily life of a musical genius. Haydn's creative energy is palpable in this exhibition: his compositions, his inspirations, his relationships. The legendary loves and his musical contributions to high society are also discussed.
OPERA AND ORCHESTRAL SOUND
Multimedia installations make his sound world audible and tangible – especially in the extension "This is how the Haydn House sounds!", where the sound of individual orchestral instruments becomes an experience. Unique is the octet table, as well as original instruments and sheet music documenting his sacred music works. One room is dedicated to opera – Haydn's rarely performed masterpieces, brought to life by interactive scenes. The conclusion is a look into the present: The lasting impact of his work on today's musicians is powerfully illustrated.
SALON CONCERTS
On the last Friday of each month from April to November, atmospheric salon concerts will take place in cooperation with the Joseph Haydn Private University.
HERB GARDEN AND SUMMER FRESHNESS
