The octahedron in Sigleß is a unique, walk-in art object in northern Burgenland, designed by artist Heinz Bruckschwaiger. The distinctive octagonal sculpture rises 8.5 meters high into the sky and is made of wood and noble zinc sheet. It symbolizes the dialogue between art, landscape, and architecture and also serves as a lookout tower.
Through 14 strategically placed windows, visitors are offered a fascinating panoramic view of the gentle hills of the Wulka Valley, the Leitha Mountains, and, on clear days, as far as Lake Neusiedl. The octahedron is located directly on the B32 cycling path, is freely accessible year-round, and is an excellent destination for hikers, cyclists, and architecture enthusiasts.
This modern landmark stands not only for artistic inspiration but also for the connection of nature, movement, and conscious pause – a place of tranquility and perspective in the midst of greenery.
The octahedron is freely accessible year-round and can be visited at any time!
