The Restaurant Fossil is located in a lovingly revitalized wine cellar at the historic Kellerplatz of Purbach on Lake Neusiedl. In 2006, the wine cellar was expanded to the current Restaurant Fossil. The original wine cellar was built in 1870. The Restaurant Fossil was first opened in March 2008 and since then has gained fame far beyond the borders of Burgenland.
