At the foot of Pauliberg, Austria's youngest volcano, lies the Renaissance Castle Kobersdorf in the midst of the Landseer Mountains Nature Park.
Built in the Carolingian period as a fortification against the horse-riding peoples from the east, it experienced tumultuous times as a border fortress.
In the 16th and 17th centuries, the castle, surrounded by a moat, was remodeled and expanded in the style of the Renaissance. In 1963, the castle was in ruins and was acquired by Prof. Martha Bolldorf-Reitstätter, the first female academic architect. It became her life's work. After extensive renovation and restoration work, it was developed into a cultural center by the founding of the Kobersdorf Castle Games. Today, the castle is owned by her daughter, Dr. Anna Schlanitz-Bolldorf.
The Renaissance castle with its romantic park is the ideal location for your wedding. We are happy to organize a civil wedding for you in the Knights' Hall or a church wedding in the large chapel of the castle. Afterwards, the castle, courtyard, and castle garden provide the perfect setting for a fairytale reception or an unforgettable wedding celebration with up to 120 guests.
Castle tours are available as part of guided tours.
