Earth Market in Parndorf
At the end of August 2010, the very first diversity market in Austria was opened in Parndorf (North Burgenland), modeled after the "Earth Markets" of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity. The Market of the Earth – Slow Food Earth Market Parndorf was initiated by Monika Liehl and Slow Food Burgenland.

Currently, there are a total of 69 Earth Markets worldwide – from Italy to Romania, the USA, and Australia. In the meantime, there are also Austrian Earth Markets in Horn (Waldviertel/NÖ) and Lutzmannsburg (Middle Burgenland).
