StephanO THE WINE ESTATE | Character, depth, spice, exoticism, classicism – good wines are like a comedy by Shakespeare. Stephano, the intoxicated cellar master from Shakespeare's famous comedy "The Tempest," is therefore not only coincidentally the namesake for Das-Wein-Gut StephanO.
We are committed to producing top wines in the newly acquired vineyards in Deutsch-Schützen and Eisenberg with the same passion as Shakespeare's Stephano.
History | The dream of our own wine estate comes true after a long search in 2008, when we are able to acquire about 1.2 hectares of the most beautiful vineyards in Southern Burgenland in Deutsch-Schützen. In 2009, we found the wine estate StephanO and immediately begin planning for the wine cellar, tasting room, and guest rooms. The first grape harvest is brought in. In spring 2010, the vineyard directly behind the estate is replanted, and on July 30, 2010, the long-awaited moment arrives: a grand celebration marks the kickoff for the new construction of the wine estate StephanO, which is now officially opened.
Our Philosophy | To produce wines that are by the book and can only come from Southern Burgenland: reserved yet full of character. Just like the people from this very special region.
The central theme, where the next bustling city is miles away and stress has not yet been invented: wine. From the first floor to the last bottle. Pure deceleration. And everywhere humility and reverence for climate, quality, and nature. Many reasons to want to share our passion for wine with you from here in the future. Why do we do this? A long-standing enthusiasm for top wines and their production, along with the experience gained over the last years in practical work in various vineyards. Or simply put: we love the artwork of wine.
