The establishment of the winery traces back to the ancestors who cultivated wine here 250 years ago. With ancient knowledge, they made the most of the climatic and tectonic conditions of the Leithaberg. Much of this has been passed down: a strong connection to the land, their knowledge of viticulture, and respect for the natural characteristics of wine.
The vineyard areas of the winery cover a total of 10 hectares. They are located above the villages of Großhöflein and St. Georgen on the southern slopes of the Leithaberg. The grapes can develop in the best possible way here – on the former seabed. Rich in fossil heritage, the Leithakalk gives the wines their high mineral density and distinctive character. In every drop, the spiciness of the soil combines with the power of the sun and the special Pannonian air to create a unique wine experience.
For generations, the family has been closely connected to nature. The secret to the high quality of the wines lies hidden right here and is fundamentally quite simple: careful pruning of the vines, foliage management, and thinning of the grapes to maintain the high standard of our wines.
The fruity white wines made from Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc emphasize freshness and liveliness.
The red wines made from Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and Cabernet Sauvignon are multifaceted companions, characterized by their dense body, complex aroma, and deep red, rich color.
