The taste of prehistoric seabed with its weathered limestone, the scent of the nearby Puszta, scorching midday sun and cool evening breezes, local specialties like Blaufränkisch and Burgundy varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir: Wines that have unmistakably grown on the slopes of the Leithagebirge, spontaneously fermented, carefully pressed.
In 2021, Max Stiegl took over the former winery of Dr. Hans Bichler and continues it in the spirit of and in memory of the good doctor. Max's good friends Bertl Gmeiner and Jörg Bretz take care of the work in the vineyard and in the cellar. The wines can be tasted and purchased at select retailers, at Gut Purbach, and directly from the new winery on Hauptgasse in Purbach.
