The Wiedeschitz Family Winery lives in the heart of the Blaufränkischland!

At the Wiedeschitz winery, the tradition of winemaking is highly valued. Knowledge passed down over generations, combined with innovative ideas and consideration of the latest scientific findings, forms the foundation of vinification. The result is unique, harmonious, and long-lasting white and red wines that every lover of Austrian wine culture should at least try once.

The Wiedeschitz winery has been in family ownership for four generations. It is currently led by winemaker Gregor Wiedeschitz, who took over in 2015. In addition to the techniques passed down from his ancestors, he bases his work primarily on a completed degree in oenology and his international experience. Through several internships at various wineries, he has acquired practical knowledge from other regions alongside the traditions of his homeland. By combining these effectively, he is able to adapt the workflows at the Wiedeschitz winery to new scientific findings without losing the traditional knowledge of caring for his vines according to their varieties.

In the vineyards, he particularly focuses on adapting the care measures to the soil formations and microclimates present in the individual plots at the Wiedeschitz winery. Traditional working methods ensure nature-friendly use and the preservation of the environment. In the wine cellar, Gregor Wiedeschitz primarily uses traditional wooden barrels. Prolonged contact with the yeast and natural stabilization support the development of flavor in the Wiedeschitz wines. The result is red and white wines whose origin from one of the best Austrian wine regions is distinctly noticeable. Besides spiciness and elegance in taste, they also impress especially with their aging potential.

The Wiedeschitz winery is located in Deutschkreuz in the heart of the "Blaufränkischland" in the Austrian Burgenland. Here, Gregor Wiedeschitz has 11 hectares of vineyard area in some of the best locations in the region, particularly the plots Goldberg, Kart, and Satz. Moisture-retaining clay and loam, nutrient-rich loess, and iron-containing gravel, combined with the warmth of the Hungarian plain, create the best conditions for the production of high-quality and flavorful grapes. Naturally, the main focus at the Wiedeschitz winery is on the Blaufränkisch, which thrives particularly well here. However, under the expert hands of Gregor Wiedeschitz, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Welschriesling also flourish magnificently and provide the basis for truly noble wines.
