Many years ago, the ancestors of the Weiss/Beck families laid the foundation with the planting of the first vineyard. And when Paul was born, he cried out loudly Weeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiinn! He has remained true to that: with great attention to detail and extensive expertise (winegrower and cellar master), he produces, with the help of his family, traditional "Golser" red and white wines on an area of 8 ha that are affordable for everyone.
In addition, he also takes time for his favorite hobby, agriculture. I believe he knows every "Golser" tractor by the sound of the engines – unfortunately, there is no more "Wetten dass"!
The next generation: Matthias Paul is also a graduate of the Eisenstadt wine school and is wholeheartedly involved! Sometimes, in addition to grandpa, the middle one and the youngest help out :), it's truly a FAMILY BUSINESS!
Our basic principle in wine production is:
Good wines are created by emphasizing the strengths of the soil, climate, varieties, and vinification!
The soil and the Pannonian climate are given; however, for the vine varieties, we rely on regionally typical varieties and also on those that are no longer so well known – which, unfortunately, are becoming fewer, e.g. Bouvier, Traminer, and Neuburger!
We have long refrained from using insecticides and herbicides and have set up pheromone traps. The soils are greened wherever possible to improve the humus content and to make the ecosystem vineyard more diverse.
Our wines:
Dry white wines: e.g. WELSCHRIESLING, NEUBURGER, GRÜNER VELTLINER, TRAMINER, and MUSKAT OTTONEL; GRÜNER VELTLINER, ROSE-Zweigelt - all aged in stainless steel tanks.
The sweet ones: BOUVIER “PRIMA VERA" and a TBA are rich, elegant companions for food with exciting aging potential - also suitable for several years of storage.
The red wines are prominently fruity and without the use of added tannins, RTK, or barrel aging - thus accessible wines that tasteeveryday!
Our motto:
We work with nature and only intervene where necessary, as wine should and must be a natural product!
We are happy to offer tastings and tours in the old wine cellar!
Just stop by, but it’s better to register in advance, as the master is often in the vineyard or working in agriculture!
PS: In the evenings, he often sits with friends in the cellar, enjoys his own wine, and chats about this and that, and of course about the old cellar stories :)
