Starting from Rechnitz or Oberschützen, the route follows the former railroad right-of-way for about 42 kilometers through the landscape of Southern Burgenland. Along the way, there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments, including a modern playground near Hannersdorf and rest areas with stunning views. The route winds through dense forests, charming villages, and past vineyards. Whether on an e-bike or a traditional bicycle, this route offers a very leisurely ride, as it has virtually no inclines. The railroad-track bike path is not only an absolute highlight for recreational cyclists but also a well-developed route for everyday cyclists.
