How should I behave in nature

How should I behave in nature?

Nature in Burgenland is a valuable habitat. That is why it is particularly important to treat it with care and awareness. Much of this is a matter of course for most people. But perhaps there are also a few new tips that you can put into practice next time.

  1. Take your garbage with you: Do not leave any waste behind - not even biodegradable waste. It is best to take everything you have brought with you on your excursion back with you and dispose of it in a designated place.
  2. Use marked paths: Stay on designated and marked trails to protect animal habitats and native vegetation.
  3. Leave plants and animals undisturbed: Nature can be viewed well from a distance. Do not disturb any animals or pick any plants - however beautiful they may be.
  4. Respect the peace and quiet of nature: Loud noises and music should be avoided. Instead, enjoy the natural sounds of the surroundings.
  5. Fire only in designated areas: Fires should only be made in designated areas and kept as small as possible. Make sure that the fire is completely extinguished as soon as you leave a place.
  6. Only pitch tents in permitted areas: Camping is only permitted in designated areas. The campsites in Burgenland offer you numerous advantages - such as proximity to exciting excursion destinations or infrastructure. To protect the environment and secure a pitch, find out about available capacities in advance.
  7. Biodegradable products: Environmentally friendly soaps, shampoos and cleaning products are not only good for you, but also for the environment. The products are often biodegradable and are now available at many locations.
  8. Avoid water pollution: Clean water is not only available in accommodation, but also in many leisure facilities such as beach or outdoor pools. To protect natural bodies of water, do not bathe or wash here.
  9. Do not leave any traces behind: Do not remove stones, plants or other natural elements. Leave nature as you found it.
  10. Respect wild animals: Always keep a safe distance from wild animals you meet along the way. They are skittish animals. Do not feed wild animals.
  11. Avoid plastic: To minimize waste, you can use reusable containers and bottles. Single-use plastic should be avoided wherever possible.
  12. Observe local rules: Find out about specific rules of conduct and regulations before your visit. This way you can enjoy your trip to the fullest.
