The Austrian Jewish Museum was very fortunate to be able to establish itself in a historical building in the former Judengasse in Eisenstadt. It is thus located in a place where a renowned Jewish community was established for more than 250 years. The museum was founded in 1972 as the first Jewish museum in Austria after 1945. Visitors can not only view the former private synagogue and the museum's collections, but also gain an impression of the old Jewish houses and the two Jewish cemeteries.

The Austrian Jewish Museum is open to individual visitors from May to October and to groups (10 or more people and school groups) all year round by prior arrangement.
