The „Hirmer“ are aware of their great past - visitors associate Hirm, mostly only with the sugar beets and the pencil factory.

Did you know that the first sugar factory of the Hungarian monarchy was built in Hirm in 1850? Or that the writer Hermann Broch married the daughter of the factory owner and he wrote his first social novel there?
Hirm invites you to a cultural-historical journey through time. The search for traces begins at a symbolic railroad station and tells the story of Hirm from the construction of the sugar factory with the highest factory chimney to the sulfur fountain, life in the workers' dwelling house to the Peace Park, which used to be the mansion garden of the factory owner, there the spirit of Hermann Broch's time welcomes them. At the end, a photo can be taken with the "Working Class heroes" (sugar factory workers), which were painted by the artist Florian Lang.

The cultural-historical path is freely accessible all year round and can be visited at any time!
