“There is no art without imagination” (Franz Liszt)
The Liszt Festival Raiding focuses on the work as well as the thoughts and values of the genius Franz Liszt. It is today one of the world’s most important venues for the music of this composer and pianist. As a pianist, conductor and composer, Franz Liszt was a traveller between worlds throughout his life, a true European who crossed borders in every respect, redefining them again and again and overcoming them in many areas.
International stars and ensembles have been visiting the annual festival since the construction of the Liszt Centre Raiding with the Franz Liszt Concert Hall in 2006. In the concert hall located immediately adjacent to the house where Franz Liszt was born, festival visitors can experience first-rate piano and orchestral concerts, song and choral recitals, as well as cross-border performances that explore the work of Franz Liszt in creative and innovative ways with world premieres and improvisations. The Liszt Festival Raiding is under the artistic direction of Eduard and Johannes Kutrowatz.
