Tabor - Ruin secret landmark of the city

For a long time, this castle ruin was thought to be a Roman structure. In reality, it dates back to the Middle Ages. Experts disagree on its function: some consider it a royal residence, while others argue it's a watchtower. The wall construction suggests
that the building was erected in the 14th/15th century.

In any case, the Tabor served defensive purposes in later times. In 1708, it was fortified with palisades and wooden stakes but still could not
withstand the attack of the Kuruc.

The Tabor ruin is situated on an elevation, and from the high walls of the ruin, one has a magnificent view over the city and the lake.
