A true rarity is the bootmaker museum housed in the municipal office – or as it should correctly be called in Hungarian, "Csizmenmachermuseum". It is the only museum of its kind in Austria and indicates that the guild of bootmakers in Rechnitz had a rich past until the Second World War. Today, this profession is unfortunately almost extinct.
A complete bootmaker's workshop with interesting tools and machines, as well as a market stand, a market chest, guild chests, etc. can be visited under the expert guidance of shoemaker master Koch Julius.
